Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008!!!

How time flies. I can't believe we are facing 2008 already. Looking back, 2007 was so eventful-birth of a newborn, break-ups, weddings, datings, holiday trips, house-warming....before u could embrace the current year, 2008 is already waiting in front of your face. What are u gonna do? Ride pass it again?

This year, i thought i'd do something different. Besides preparing for a nice christmas dinner and sipping Ice Blended Green Tea from Coffee Bean (Citibank was promoting a buy one free one drink for the whole month of Dec) on Christmas eve, i actually welcomed the new year with a list of my resolutions!! For 27 years, no resolutions for the new year, but this year is special/weird/unique, i made a list of it!! God, help me abide by it this year :) The reason why i never bothered to do it years before was because i never believed in it. This year, someone inspired me. Yes, INSPIRED. I am all geared up to face this year, hoping that life would be as beautiful as the previous, determined that life would be great, feeling that this is gonna be another eventful year. So, to 2008, cheers!

& then there was Sophie & Manlok's arrival to the country. Much to my disapointment, our timing just didn't coinside. When she was in KL, i was in Melaka and vice versa. Guess i'll see u guys in Australia ey, hopefully this year end or next year. Haha.

BIG trip 2007 Part I

Hi again after a long silence...been so busy wrapping up work and then getting ready for the trip of the year! Been home in Malaysia since Dec 24 but the programme has been sooo hectic coz its manlok's first time in Malaysia so its like bringing him around to see all the sights. The first 2 days was shopping madness in KL! hahah.. in just 2-days, we have been to: KLCC, Midvalley, Gardens, Pavillion, Lot 10, Sungai Wang AND Sunway Pyramids. We managed to find things to buy things in every single one of the malls mentioned with the exception of Sungai Wang, that one just to bring manlok to have a look at a different type of shopping mall. :P We also went to Central Market, Petaling Street and Taman Connaught's pasar malam (night market).

It's scary shopping in Malaysia! haha.. coz everything is cheap for us that we want to buy almost everything we see.. and we almost did! Only manage to skip a few things that is not so important! The scariest is when we were in Gardens and we went into this shoe shop, Camper which is a brand which we usually wear. We spend like RM1k+ on 2 pairs of shoes, one each.. it was still cheaper than getting it in Melbourne! And we got a couple of Lacoste polo shirt too. Manlok loved the FOS coz he could get his RL polo shirt (his size) and its cheap!

Anyway, i think all in all we spent like RM3k in 2 days! :S How's that for scary?!?!?!?! I think it's all those bottled up shopping mood that got released! hahahahah.. but its not all just for us as we did spent a fair bit for Xmas gifts for my family. A bit of last minute though, coz we got them their gift on Xmas day, so we still sempat (in time for non-malay speakers) to give it to them during our xmas dinner in Mandarin Oriental... :D

Anyway, went down to JB and Spore for 2 days to visit my dad but din manage to go sightseeing in Spore coz my dad and I had terrible food poisoning from JB Hyatt's food!!! Had to check in to Intercontinental in Bugis St for a night coz cant move!!! That was not a very nice experience, poor manlok!

Then we travelled back to Melaka for 2 days and we had sooo much food (ok, i was controlling a bit coz just recovering from the horrid food poisoning...). I think Manlok likes Melaka, its such a nice and different place considered to cities. I manage to buy a set of Kebaya (niceeeeee) while I was there. Manlok's dream came true when we went to Tan Kim Hock (his 'best friend') coz he got to snap a picture with a mountain of DODOL! ahaha.. we also went to all the tourist spots and some others, but 2 days is quite limited and we missed out on Cheng Hoon Teng temple. :( We did manage to go to Jonker Walk on Sunday night though!

Now we are back in KL... leaving this evening for the 2nd part of the trip... HONG KONG! It's manlok's turf there and he will be responsible to take me around. SO excited!!!!!!!

In short, I was really happy to have met up with friends but for some that I didn't manage to, sorry... :( I hope we can catch up next time. Although I have to be truthful by saying I was VERY disappointed with one of my best friend, C who gave a very lame reason for not being able to meet up with me....
